Cath Lab Systems and Radiation Safety
CCL 101 introduces students to the critical components and operational procedures within an interventional suite environment. The curriculum covers the fundamental physics and practical application of fluoroscopic imaging, emphasizing image acquisition, processing, and display systems. A significant portion of the course is dedicated to establishing and maintaining sterile fields, crucial for patient safety during invasive procedures. Furthermore, students will gain comprehensive knowledge of radiation safety principles, including dose optimization, shielding techniques, and regulatory compliance, to protect both patients and healthcare personnel. The course combines theoretical instruction with practical laboratory exercises, preparing technicians to contribute effectively and safely to the interventional team.
